Karl started a successful Karting career in 1992, racing in the Junior 100UK Championship. At 16 he moved up into the competitive 100 TKM championship. In 1999 after gaining a degree in Mechanical Engineering Karl moved in to Single Seaters, racing in a few selected Formula Ford races in preparation for a full season in 2000. Many race wins, pole positions and fastest laps were achieved through out 2000 and 2001. A lack of racing budget forced Karl to sit out 2002 but he was able to come back in 2003 to compete in the SEAT Cupra Cup. Since 2003 Karl has become a full time driver coach and racing driver, coaching and driving with clients in a wide range of classes and formulas.
